So what was our brief? Well we were given a brief outlining the company history and why we were looking for some PR for the company. Our company was a fashion company selling band t-shirts online and now wanted to launch into the high street stores via concession stands and needed some PR help in order to achieve a successful transition into the high street. Fashion being an interest of mine I was particularly excited to start the work and come with some ideas.
Our first meeting was just to examine the brief and come up with some initial ideas. Throughout we had equal input and contributed well. As a group we carefully listened to one another and let each other have our say as we all felt that each member of the group should be just as equally involved. We decided to name our brand TNR (The New Revolution).
Managing people can often be a difficult task with time of the essence in this task it was important, so being organised is often a key element. Hannagan states that “Organisation lies at the heart of all activities; without it, very little can be accomplished.” This is a statement that we found to be true within our group, as our first meeting we organised what was the be done and then found it a lot easier to get on with the work as we all knew what we were doing.
So after gathering our initial ideas on paper it was now time to meet again and put our presentation together. Getting in contact via Facebook was our preferred method of communication as we all use it on a regular basis and by sending private messages we could all see the message feed, which is a lot easier than sending a text.
So now it’s time to put the ideas into action all gathered around a computer in the library our ideas came together. We decided to do the whole presentation together rather than breaking it up as then we could all see the presentation coming together and have an input. We followed our lectures notes on how to write a brief to make sure we stayed on track and covered all the key points that were necessary, and considered the pros and cons of using an agency vs. in-house as a basis for why we were employing an agency. A written brief can be very helpful to support the power point presentation so we all felt that by doing a written brief it would be of great help to our commissioning group, as without a good brief it would make the task more difficult.

| tucking in to our nandos |
The first group meeting went really well we all felt really motivated to get the work done and promised ourselves a Nandos after to keep morale up. Making time to socialise with people in your group can be really important as you get to know each other well and learn what makes each other tick.
Rhiannon being a completer finisher wanted to add the special touches and neaten the whole presentation up so she took it away to check it all over and did email it back to us to make sure we were happy with tweaks that she had made.
With just enough time for a quick final run through presentation day is looming...
